Introduce Tai Chi
to your practice

You will learn a brief history, based on research, of Tai Chi's origins in China, and how it developed into what we know as Tai Chi today. We include an overview of the relevant styles suitable for rehabilitation.

You will view the current evidence for Tai Chi's use in a range of health conditions. You will develop an understanding of the mechanisms through which patients feel these benefits. You will be introduced to movements suitable for use during your interventions.

How will your patients benefit?

Evidence shows that patients adhere to Tai Chi beyond the trial stages. Reports show that patients find Tai Chi movements engaging, relaxing and enjoy mastering a new skill.

This creates an intrinsic motivation to adhere to the exercises. Patients who may be resistant to a deficit based model of care may respond well to an aqusitive modality, helping to build self efficacy and a new narrative of self care.
